After all the mess during the past few days, Raidou gladly agrees to help out. It turns out he's not the only one bothered by personal issues, as Franziska corners him after work. Finally, he comes to face the fact that the failed mission affected him more than he'd like, and admits his concerns to Alucard.

Then the city is hit by an earthquake, causing notable damage especially to the commercial sector. Raidou, after offering to help Rei clean up her gallery afterwards, heads out to do what he can to help, fishing Lily from the waterways and running into Amaterasu and Allen among others. While helping people to the clinic, he finds Naoto and agrees to check up on Kanji, who has been thrown out for making a fuss.

Raidou's new kitten makes an accidental network post early in the morning before he and Alucard head out for another mission. They succeed in hunting down the Kishin Egg, yet upon their return later that day, a tragedy is waiting for them. Yosuke has been killed in battle, a shock to everyone who knew him.

It's time for morning training again. Raidou tries to distract himself from the upcoming memorial service by socializing and training, speaking with Nagi, Jules, and Megumi among others. Amaterasu offers some comfort, and in turn, Raidou attempts to comfort Naoto, who has been dealing with the arrangements for the funeral by herself. There is only so much you can do before you must face the reality of death, and so Raidou arrives at the church along with others to pay his respects. To make matters worse, it seems Roy has been sent home.

Death City's water has been contaminated by black blood, causing Madness to break out throughout the city. Raidou is sane enough to try calm people down and manages to rescue Rei from Kenshin. His peace of mind doesn't last long, however, as he receives an alarming message from Alucard and nearly panics. Fortunately Amaterasu is able to help him locate his partner before the dhampir does anything foolish.
